EducationUC Davis - BS, Genetics
ExperienceI earned a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and minored in quantitative biology and bioinformatics while at the University of California, Davis. Next, I want to discover what causes neurological disorders via genomics and have been accepted by one of the leading genomics Ph.D. facilities in the United States to complete this research. The students I work with range in age from sixth grade up to college age. I feel great pleasure from helping them grasp the difficult concepts inherent to math and science, though I also teach subjects such as GRE verbal, reading, and test prep. I achieve those eureka moments for students by utilizing various methodologies and explanations to cover one concept. This allows students the chance to see one subject from several perspectives. Renewed perspectives provide students with a mental flexibility that extends to every level of their academic career, and they also aid in securing a job. A multifaceted approach also addresses the varying learning styles of different students. I like to stay active and enjoy reading all sorts of material, but I never let my guard down when it comes to learning more about genomics and bioinformatics. It remains an important part of my daily routine.
